Opera Tei | Boutique Apartment Interior
141-143 Ghica Tei Blvd., Bucharest
Under construction since 2025
Complementing the architectural vision of the residential project on Ghica Tei Boulevard, the interior design of the Opera Tei complex focuses on defining the refined character of the common spaces and exploring two distinct living scenarios through two model apartments.
The common areas propose a modern aesthetic with subtle industrial-inspired accents. The microcement floors offer a fluid and durable base, while the ceiling becomes the centerpiece of the design. It is treated with perforated sheet metal panels, remarkable for a special shade of muted, delicate gold, and very fine perforations that recall the texture of a mesh. Placed overlapping and with "breathing" spaces between them, the panels leave visible the installations that flow freely on the plastered ceiling above. The corridor lighting is deeply scenographic: linear fixtures hidden above the panels cast a diffuse luminous halo, while spotlights hanging on rods descend below the metal level for directional lighting. To interrupt the linearity and length of the corridors, the metal panels occasionally descend onto the wall, marking the entrances, and the perspective ends are animated by tableau-like compositions made of ceramic tiles with floral motifs.
The two model apartments were designed to respond to different lifestyles. The first explores a bold modernity, ideal for a young and dynamic public. The space is dominated by microcement floors and exposed concrete surfaces, whose deliberate roughness is ingeniously tempered by furniture in warm shades of pale yellow. This material coherence extends into the bathroom, which is executed entirely in microcement, creating a continuous and minimalist envelope, highlighted by the contrast with the concealed black faucets.
The second apartment, benefiting from a more generous space, opts for a timeless elegance drawn in simple lines. Here, a triple-layered parquet was preferred, and the sleeping area is highlighted by a delicately patterned wallpaper mounted at the head of the bed, offering the room a refined and soothing air. For the bathroom of this apartment, the ceramic finishes faithfully imitate limestone, providing a natural texture that contrasts impeccably with the same concealed black faucets.
In both apartment typologies, the simple, transparent glass shower cabins, together with the large mirrors, function as unifying elements, maximizing the sensation of space and brightness.
