Anca Mladin
Founding architect
Anca Mladin has been practicing architecture for over three decades. Beyond the technical rigor absorbed throughout all these years, her journey is marked by an essential awareness: that the built environment directly influences one's inner state. Thus, the value of a building is complemented by the influence that space has on the human psyche.
This quality of space interweaves naturally with a warm, human-scale architecture that speaks directly to the individual. In the face of outside bustle, the spaces are designed to bring calm and balance. The projects become places of retreat, where natural light, correct proportions, and honest materials work together to generate a sense of well-being. The approach does not pursue minimalism as a formal end, but rather a warm modernity, defined by natural textures and an order intended to simplify everyday experience.
Functional requirements are thus transposed into spaces capable of calming and supporting psychological balance. It is precisely for this reason that the future resident becomes the starting point of each project. The personality and lifestyle of the client directly influence the design process, transforming architecture into a unique and deeply personalized response.
Her training is grounded in studies at the "Ion Mincu" University of Architecture and Urban Planning in Bucharest, which she completed in 1996. The early stages of her career were defining for her integrated approach today: collaboration under the guidance of architect Militza Sion instilled in her a rigorous approach to both concept and coordination, while the experience gained at Romstal strengthened her expertise in interior design and the discipline of overseeing on-site execution. With a comprehensive vision of the construction process, she began her independent practice in 1998, laying the foundations of her own studio.
